Search your business name alongside each directory on this list, then check the listing you find against these three things
Claimed
The listing is verified and under your control — not sitting there unclaimed with whatever data a scraper put in it.
Complete
Every field filled: hours, categories, description, photos, website. Half-finished profiles get half the results.
Accurate
The same name, address, and phone number as everywhere else. Consistent NAP is what search engines trust.
The cheat sheet
Every business should be listed here
Work down the list and check each one off as you claim it
Don't work top to bottom. Do the aggregators first.
Three companies feed business data to hundreds of the sites below: Data Axle, TransUnion Digital Business Profile (formerly Neustar Localeze) and Foursquare (which absorbed Factual in 2020). Fix a directory by hand while an aggregator still holds the old record and the wrong information simply repopulates a few weeks later. Correct the source first, then the majors — Google, Bing, Apple, Yelp, Facebook — then whichever niche directories apply to you.
And you don't need all 92. This list exists so you can see what's out there, not so you can complete it. Accuracy on the ones that matter beats volume on the ones that don't.

Do I need all 92 of these
No — and any provider selling you all of them is selling volume rather than results. Work the three data aggregators, the major platforms, and the directories specific to your industry. The rest of this list is here so you can see what exists, not so you can complete it.
Which ones should I do first
The data aggregators, because they feed hundreds of downstream sites. Correcting a directory by hand while an aggregator still holds the old record just means the wrong information repopulates a few weeks later. After that: Google, Bing, Apple, Yelp and Facebook — then your niche directories.
Which data aggregators still exist
Three in the US: Data Axle, TransUnion Digital Business Profile (formerly Neustar Localeze), and Foursquare (which absorbed Factual in 2020). Acxiom retired its directory products at the end of 2019. Any checklist still listing Factual or Acxiom as separate submission targets is out of date.
How exact does the information have to be
Exact. Pick one format for your business name, suite number, street abbreviation and phone number, and use it everywhere without variation. Search engines cross-reference these mentions to decide how confident they are about your details — inconsistency reads as uncertainty.
What if a listing already exists that I didn't create
Claim it rather than creating a new one. Aggregators and directories generate listings automatically from public data, so most established businesses already have records they've never seen. Creating a second gives you a duplicate that splits your reviews and ranking signals.
How do I handle duplicates
Suppress rather than delete where the platform allows it — a deleted record can be recreated from an aggregator feed, while a suppressed one stays down. Duplicates usually come from an old address, a previous owner or a franchise rollout.
Should I use a call tracking number
Not as the primary number on citations. Different numbers across directories are exactly the inconsistency that erodes confidence in your data. Use call tracking as a secondary number where the platform supports it, keeping the main line identical everywhere.
How long until corrections appear
Days on platforms you edit directly; weeks to a few months through the aggregator chain, because each downstream publisher refreshes on its own schedule. Nobody controls that timing — treat any promise of a fully corrected ecosystem within a week as a warning sign.
Do citations still matter now that AI answers questions
More than before. AI assistants and AI overviews read the same publisher records, so an inconsistent address no longer just confuses someone scrolling a directory — it becomes a confidently wrong answer delivered to a person who never sees the source.
